CBM President Mohamed Faisal, Vice President Ahmed Ishaq and the Executive Committee presided over the Annual General Meeting earlier this week.
Highlights of cricket development and achievements were discussed. In particular the 2nd place of the National men’s squad at the first international tournament held in Bhutan; Senior Women’s participation in an Asian Cricket Council tournament for the first time; and the 25 tournaments held across the country in the past 12 months.
The CBM extended gratitude to the Ministry of Sports, Fitness & Recreation for the unwavering support from the Minister and staff towards cricket and sport across the nation.
Thanks also given to the Maldives Olympic Committee for their efforts to nurture and raise awareness across the atolls of main-stream sports and provide opportunities for new sports to be embraced.
President Faisal spoke about the continued improvements in developmental support provided by both the International Cricket Council (ICC) and the Asian Cricket Council towards Maldives.
The CBM hosted its first ever ICC Level 2 Coaching Course & High Performance Workshop in Malé – with participants from13 countries all over the world taking part.
The Executive Committee has worked successfully towards amending the CBM Constitution to align with the National Sports Act. Regular Executive Committee meetings focus and continue to create clear, transparent strategic direction towards 2030.
