CBM President Attends Asian Cricket Council Executive Board Meeting

Mohamed Aflah, the Cricket Board of Maldives President is attending the Asian Cricket Council Executive Board Meeting this week in Singapore. Tasked to promote and develop the sport of cricket in Asia. In association with the International Cricket Council, the council is the continent’s regional administrative body, and currently consists of 43 member associations.

As a member of the ACC Executive Committee, Mr Aflah is lobbying keenly for a change in the competition region that Maldives is currently participating in, from Western to Eastern – Geographically, logistically and economically it is apparent that Maldives belongs in the Western Region.

To have a Maldivian active in the Asian Cricket Council Exceutive Committee is testament to the dedication of President Aflah towards cricket development in the Maldives and to raise the international profile of the Maldives to the wider cricketing community. Mr Aflah is also an active member of the International Cricket Council Development Committee (Asia) and since 2016 has overseen many improvements to cricket facitilites, development programmes, international competitions, local and global partnerships and CBM structure.
