Closing Ceremony of the MILO Maldives T20 Premier League 2023

With an air of excitement and sporting camaraderie, the MILO Maldives T20 Premier League 2023 concluded in a grand fashion at its closing ceremony. The tournament, organised by the Cricket Board of Maldives, showcased thrilling matches and remarkable performances from some of the finest cricketing talent in the country. The event celebrated the spirit of sportsmanship and competition.

During the closing ceremony, the President of the Cricket Board of Maldives, Mohamed Faisal, took the stage to honour the standout performers and contributors of the MILO Maldives T20 Premier League 2023. The following awards were presented:

Tournament League Champions: Milan Cricket Academy – Milan Cricket Academy emerged as the champions, displaying exceptional team coordination and skill to claim the coveted title.

2nd Place: Malé Veterans – The commendable efforts of Malé Veterans saw them finish as the runners-up in a closely contested tournament, showcasing their cricketing mettle.

Player of the Match (Match No. 10): Ibrahim Nashath (OFFU FC vs. Milan Cricket Academy) – Nashath’s exceptional performance in the 10th match earned him this well-deserved accolade, recognising his contribution to his team’s success.

Tournament Individual Awards

Best Batter: Mohamed Rishwan (Malé Sports Club) – Rishwan’s consistent and impactful batting throughout the tournament.

Best Bowler: Ahmed Ameel Mauroof (Milan Cricket Academy) – Ameel’s impressive bowling skills and ability to pick crucial wickets saw him bag the award for the Best Bowler.

Best Fielder: Mohamed Azzam (Milan Cricket Academy) – Azzam’s agility and outstanding fielding efforts.

Player of the Tournament: Mohamed Rishwan (Malé Sports Club) – Rishwan’s brilliance and significant contributions earned him the ultimate accolade of Player of the Tournament.

Most Promising Player: Tharusha Kavinda (Malé Veterans) – Kavinda’s talent, potential, and impressive performances.

The closing ceremony also provided an opportunity to extend heartfelt appreciation to all the umpires and scorers whose dedication and commitment ensured the smooth running of the tournament.
Additionally, a special mention of gratitude was given to MiloMaldives for their invaluable sponsorship, which played a crucial role in making the tournament a resounding success.

The MILO Maldives T20 Premier League 2023 concluded on a high note, leaving behind memories of enthralling matches and remarkable performances.

Congratulations to all the winners and participants for making this event a memorable one, and here’s to an even more spectacular T20 Presidents Cup beginning Saturday 29th July from 2pm.


The annual national T20 Men’s Cricket Tournaments are to got underway on 7 July 2023 with all matches played at Ekuveni Cricket Ground on Fridays & Saturdays until 11 August.

This year, 5 of the top Clubs of the Maldives will participate in the 2023 T20 Premier League with all 5 teams taking part in the 2023 T20 President’s Cup from 29 July.

Last year’s League Winners Milan Cricket Academy lead the pack of Malé Veterans, Malé Sports Club, Vyansa and Offu FC.

The draw for both competitions will be made on Sunday 2 July from 1pm at the Cricket Board of Maldives headquarters in Malé. Participating Clubs will be asked to sign ‘club-agreements’ which highlight the benefits and support on offer from the CBM for the duration of the events.

A ‘National Division 2’ T20 Men’s competition is scheduled for later in 2023 to be played by CBM registered clubs around the Maldives, demonstrating the pledge to provide competitive cricket at all levels to the many passionate cricketers around the country.

Malé Veterans v Vyansa

In a thrilling encounter at the Ekuveni Cricket Ground, Malé Veterans and Vyansa battled it out in the 2023 MILO Maldives T20 Premier League. With both teams having completed their total of 4 matches, this fixture would determine their final standings in the league.

Vyansa batted first and managed to score 130 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in their allotted 20 overs. Facing the disciplined bowling attack of Malé Veterans, the Vyansa batsmen struggled to accelerate and set a more formidable target.
