The ACC Men’s T20I Challenger Cup 2024 is set to kick off on January 27 and conclude on February 11 in Bangkok, Thailand. This tournament, organised by the Asian Cricket Council (ACC), marks the second edition of the ACC Men’s Challenger Cup and serves as a crucial step in the qualification process for the Asia Cup 2025.
The top two teams emerging from the ACC Men’s T20I Challenger Cup 2024 will earn a spot in the 2024 ACC Men’s Premier Cup, which acts as the final qualification stage for the Asia Cup.
Featuring a total of 10 teams, the competition will witness 22 matches unfold over a two-week period.
The Challenger Cup Qualifier, running from January 27-30, will include Cambodia, China, and Myanmar, with the winner advancing to the main draw of the ACC Men’s T20I Challenger Cup 2024.
In accordance with the tournament format, eight teams are divided into two groups.
Group A comprises Bhutan, Indonesia, Saudi Arabia, and the qualifier, while Group B includes Japan, Maldives, Singapore, and Thailand.
The round-robin format within each group ensures that every team plays against the others, with the top two from each group progressing to the semi-finals.
The semi-final winners will then vie for the championship title in the ACC Men’s T20I Challenger Cup 2024 final, scheduled for February 11.
All the matches of this upcoming T20 tournament will be played at the Terdthai Cricket Ground in Bangkok.
