Day 8 March 16th GRAND FINAL

Pearl Logistics have been crowned champions of the 2026 Ramadan Cricket Carnival – Open Tournament after an enjoyable match against City Investments in the tournament final.

Winning the toss and electing to bowl, Pearl Logistics faced a tough challenge from City Investments, who posted a formidable 127/6 in their 8 overs. Sheraz Iqbal was the standout performer for the batting side, smashing 47 runs off just 16 balls, including five sixes. However, Pearl Logistics’ bowling attack remained disciplined, with Gihan Kavinda, Amila Ranasinghe, and Pradeep Madushanka each claiming two wickets to keep the target within reach.

In response, Pearl Logistics showcased their batting depth and power, chasing down the target with just 4 balls remaining to finish at 128/1. Amila Ranasinghe led the charge with a rapid 35 off 12 balls, while Tharaka Ruwan contributed a crucial 29 off 10 balls. Despite a wicket from City Investments’ captain Udana Jayathilaka, Pearl Logistics cruised to an 8-wicket victory.

The closing ceremony was graced by Chief Guest Mr. Mahinda Vithana (Sales Manager for Nestle – Milo) and CBM Vice President Mr. Ahmed Ishaq. Individual honors were awarded to Tharaka Ruwan (Most Runs – 155), Eranda Sanjeewa (Most Catches – 9), and a four-way tie for Most Wickets (7) between Upulintha Gayan, Gihan Kavinda, Mohamed Hussain, and Pradeep Madushanka.

Day 7 March 14th SEMI-FINAL Reports

City Investments and Pearl Logistics through to the GRAND FINAL

In Semi-Final 1, Pearl Logistics secured a dramatic last-ball victory over Team Ceylinco. Ceylinco posted 99/2, led by Eranda Sanjeewa’s retired 31. In a tense chase, Tharaka Ruwan played a match-winning innings, smashing 51 off just 14 balls. Despite Rasika Nuwan’s 3/25 for Ceylinco, Pearl Logistics reached 100/7 on the final delivery to advance.

Semi-Final 2 saw City Investments dominate MHA to claim their spot in the final. MHA was restricted to 85/6, with Vimukthi Madhushan top-scoring with 28*. City Investments made light work of the chase, reaching 87/1 in just 4.3 overs. Sheraz Iqbal was the standout performer, blasting a retired 33 off 11 balls to seal a comprehensive 9-wicket win.

Day 1 March 9th Match Reports

Wins for Alia Maldives, City Investments and a record-breaking performance from Pearl Logistics.

In Match 1, Alia Maldives secured a 20 run victory over FAHI RC. Alia posted 113/6, led by captain Ashkar Hussain’s unbeaten 27. Despite Shashi Prabath’s 3-wicket haul for FAHI RC, a disciplined bowling effort from Alia, featuring two wickets each for Althaf, Hussain, and Ansar, restricted FAHI RC to 93/8.

Match 2 saw Pearl Logistics make history, defeating Team Riyan by a staggering 154 runs. Pearl Logistics set the highest team total of the 2026 edition with a massive 196/3, powered by retired 34s from Tharak Ruwan, Amila Ranasinghe, and Madumal Perera. Team Riyan was bundled out for just 42, with Gihan Kavinda and Gayan Sameera claiming three wickets apiece.

In Match 3, City Investments chased down ANAKEE’s 103/7 to win by 7 wickets. Md. Hasin Chowdhury starred with the ball for City, taking 3/16. Sheraz Iqbal’s 24 runs ensured City Investments reached the target in 7.3 overs, capping off an exciting opening day of the tournament.

Day 2 featured victories for Team Ceylinco, MHA & Hiraasa Chemist in the 2026 Ramadan Cricket Carnival – Open Tournament

In Match 4, Team Ceylinco chased down Fathaha Star’s 107/8 to win in 7.1 overs. Despite Mehedhi Hassan’s 28 for Fathaha Star, Rasika Nuwan’s 3/17 kept the target manageable. Malith De Silva then anchored the chase with a retired 33 off 18 balls to secure the win.

Match 5 saw MHA cruise to a comfortable victory over APEX Logistics. APEX were restricted to 80/5, largely due to a brilliant spell from Mohamed Naleem, who claimed 3 wickets for just 6 runs. MHA reached the target in only 5.1 overs, powered by Milinda Algama’s explosive 34 off 10 balls.

In Match 6, Hiraasa Chemist delivered a dominant performance against RCC. After RCC posted a modest 56/4, Hiraasa Chemist needed only 2.3 overs to finish the game. Babin Raj was the standout performer, taking 2/10 with the ball before smashing a retired 32 off just 8 balls to complete a 10-wicket victory.

Wins for Team Ceylinco, MHA and City Investments on Day 3 see teams begin to dominate their groups.

In Match 7, Team Ceylinco secured a convincing 57-run victory over Alia Investment. Ceylinco posted a respectful 133/5, powered by Eranda Sanjeewa’s retired 36. In response, Alia Investment were bundled out for 76 in 6.3 overs, with Upulintha Gayan and Prasad Kumar dismantling the lineup with three wickets each.

Match 8 saw MHA continue their winning streak with a 9-wicket demolition of Team Riyan. After restricting Team Riyan to 88/4, MHA’s openers chased down the target in just 5 overs without losing a wicket. Kasun Chathuranga led the charge with an unbeaten 22.

In Match 9, City Investments edged out RCC in a close thriller. RCC set a competitive target of 111/3, led by Riad Hossain’s 36. However, City Investments reached 112/5 in 7.1 overs to win by 5 wickets. Sheraz Iqbal’s retired 33 was the cornerstone of the chase, despite a valiant 3-wicket effort from RCC’s Prem Sujin.

Critical points earned on Day 4 with wins for Pearl Logistics, Fathaha Star and Anakee SC

In Match 10, Fathaha Star delivered a dominant performance to defeat FAHI RC by 40 runs. Fathaha Star posted an imposing total of 152/4, anchored by Mohamed Shiyam (32 off 9 balls) and an unbeaten 34 from Jashim Uddin. Despite a 3-wicket effort from FAHI RC’s Thushara Jayakodi, the target proved too steep. Jashim Uddin completed a stellar all-round display by claiming 3/13 to restrict FAHI RC to 112/5.

Match 11 saw Pearl Logistics maintain their momentum with a 7-wicket victory over Apex Logistics. Apex was held to 91/5, with Pradeep Madushanka leading the bowling attack with figures of 3/23. Pearl Logistics reached the target in precisely 6 overs, spearheaded by Amila Ranasinghe’s retired 32 off 13 deliveries.

The day concluded with Match 12, where ANAKEE SC secured a 16-run win against Hiraasa. ANAKEE set a target of 111/5, bolstered by Madushika Rathnayake’s 32. In response, Hiraasa’s chase was led by Babin Raj (32) and Dinesh Kumar (31), but disciplined bowling from S. Chandrarathne and captain Chandana Amarawickrama ensured Hiraasa finished on 95/3.

Super-Over drama on day 5!

In Match 13, Fathaha Star and Alia Investments played out an exciting tie. Fathaha Star posted 131/5, led by Saidul Islam’s 36. Alia matched the total exactly, with Mohamed Salman scoring 35. In the ensuing super over, Alia set a target of 16, which Fathaha Star remarkably chased down in just three balls to secure the win.

Match 14 saw Apex Logistics claim a 40-run victory over Team Riyan. Apex set a target of 137/3, powered by Tharaka Sandaruwan’s rapid 34 off 9 balls. Team Riyan struggled to keep pace, finishing on 97/4 despite a steady 16* from Rahul Kotte. Dilan Sampath was the pick of the bowlers for Apex, taking 2/23.

The day concluded with Match 15, where Hiraasa Chemist defeated City Investments by 17 runs. Hiraasa posted 108/7, with Dinesh Kumar top-scoring with 27. City Investments fell short in their chase, ending on 91/4. Dinesh Kumar capped off a fine all-round performance by taking 2/17 to ensure Hiraasa’s victory.

Day 6 saw teams cement their standings with wins for Team Ceylinco, Pearl Logistics and RCC.

In Match 16, Team Ceylinco secured a 39-run victory over FAHI RC. Ceylinco posted a formidable 139/6, highlighted by a booming unbeaten 50 off just 14 balls from Eranda Sanjeewa. Despite Shashi Prabath’s all-round effort (2 wickets and 35* runs), FAHI RC was restricted to 100/6, with Upulintha Gayan claiming 3/16.

Match 17 saw Pearl Logistics continue their strong form with a 40-run win against MHA. Pearl Logistics set a target of 133/5, led by Tharaka Ruwan’s retired 34. MHA struggled in the chase, finishing on 94/5 as Amila Ranasinghe spearheaded the bowling attack with 2/25.

The day concluded with Match 18, where RCC defeated ANAKEE by 17 runs. RCC’s batsmen were in fine form, amassing 142/4 with Raid Hossain contributing a retired 31. ANAKEE’s response was led by Hasitha Laksha’s retired 34, but they ultimately fell short at 91/4, with Prem Sujin taking 2/18 to seal the win for RCC.
