Dear respected club officials,
Thank you for your recent participation in the largest cricket competition held in Maldives. Played by more teams and more people than ever before.
We thank you for your efforts to maintain your teams and take part in some very eventful and exciting matches. I for one, saw a marked improvement in your players match play as each game progressed.
With the above in mind, the Cricket Board of Maldives wants to retain your team together for a taste of 50 Overs cricket and as promised we will begin a 50 Overs Tournament on July 15th and invite all of your teams to participate.
Due to feedback from teams, it was clear that playing a 50 Overs League would be a logistical struggle for many to achieve week in week out.
So, a knockout cup format is the best format to give a taste of 50 Overs to all teams without the necessity of being over burdened with matches.
