Cricket Board of Maldives Holds Successful 2025 Annual General Meeting
The Cricket Board of Maldives (CBM) concluded its 2025 Annual General Meeting in Malé on Friday 7 August, bringing together full members and associate representatives to review a landmark year and chart the course for 2026.
2025 Highlights & Successes:
CBM President Mohammed Faisal opened the meeting by celebrating a prolific year, with over 40 tournaments held nationwide. A major focus remained on the Junior YDP program, which successfully produced Under-16 and Under-19 national teams that competed internationally in the past year.
Vision for 2026 and Beyond:
- Youth Development: Junior and youth programs remain the top priority for 2026;
- National Women’s Team: Special focus is being placed on preparing for the 2027 National Women’s Championship, supported by the recent appointment of an experienced Head Coach to elevate high-performance standards;
- Infrastructure: Progress continues on cricket facility development, including a new recovery room currently being established at the pavilion.
Official Approvals:
The membership unanimously approved the 2025 Annual and Audit reports, alongside the 2026 Activity Calendar. In a significant move for club cricket, Anakee Sports Club was officially granted Associate Membership of the CBM.
President Faisal concluded by urging all clubs to take an active role in player development and CBM participation, reaffirming the CBM’s commitment to providing all possible assistance to its members.
