Cricket Board of Maldives President Attends ICC Annual Conference in Edinburgh

Cricket Board of Maldives (CBM) President Mohamed Faisal attended the International Cricket Council (ICC) Annual Conference held in Edinburgh, Scotland, from 8–12 July 2026.

During the conference, President Faisal engaged with cricket leaders and counterparts from across the global cricket community, strengthening relationships and discussing opportunities for collaboration and the continued growth of the sport.

In his capacity as the ICC Asia Regional Representative, President Faisal also participated in an informal meeting of the NVAM representatives. The meeting focused on the challenges and opportunities facing cricket in their countries, with representatives agreeing on a framework for future engagement with the ICC to support the development and advancement of cricket within their respective member countries.

On the sidelines of the conference, President Faisal met with ICC Chair Mr. Jay Shah and Asian Cricket Council (ACC) President Mr. Mohsin Naqvi, reaffirming the Cricket Board of Maldives’ commitment to working closely with both the ICC and ACC to further develop cricket in the Maldives.

The Conference weekend also featured the election of the three Associate Member Representatives to the ICC Board for the 2026–2028 term. The Cricket Board of Maldives congratulates Mr. Gurumurthy Palani (France), Mr. Mubashshir Usmani (United Arab Emirates), and Dr. Rudie van Vuuren (Namibia) on their successful election and wishes them every success in their new roles representing the interests of ICC Associate Members over the next two years.

The Cricket Board of Maldives looks forward to continuing its close collaboration with the ICC, ACC, and fellow Associate Members to strengthen the global game and create greater opportunities for cricket’s growth in the Maldives.
