Jamaluddin School Champions of the Raaje Junior Cricket Tournament – Greater Malé Region U16 Boys

Thaajuddeen School, Rehendhi School and Jamaluddin School competed in the first Greater Malé U16 Boys edition of the Raaje Junior Cricket Tournament.

Final Match Report

In the final match of the Raaje Junior Cricket Tournament 2026, Jamaluddin School (JS) secured victory over Rehendhi School (RS) at the Ekuveni Cricket Ground.

After winning the toss and electing to bowl, JS restricted RS to 73/2 in 10 overs, with Mohamed Khalaf top-scoring for RS with 17 runs. In response, Jamaluddin School chased the target comfortably, reaching 74/0 in just 8.5 overs to win by ten wickets. Captain Kathum Shifaz Ali led the charge with an unbeaten 29 runs off 25 balls, including three boundaries and a six. His composed performance anchored the chase and earned him the Player of the Match award.

The result confirmed Jamaluddin School as the tournament Champions, capping off a dominant campaign where their disciplined bowling and clinical batting remained untroubled throughout the final pursuit.

Tournament Matches began April 19 from 4pm and were played daily until the Grand Final match on Monday 27th April.

This first tournament was played within a T10 format and we thank all the players, parents, officials and staff of the respective schools for all their amazing support.

The CBM aims to provide cricket opportunities for all and especially at junior levels. The CBM has a rich history of partnering with schools across the nation to deliver inter-school competitions year-in, year-out.

On day 4, Jamaaludheen School secured an 8-wicket win over Thaajuddeen School, chasing 81 in 7.3 overs, led by Kathum Shifaz Ali’s 27 and a strong bowling spell from Umair Ibrahim Naseer (2/11).

Later, Rehendhi School defeated Jamaaludheen School by 20 runs, posting 87/0 before restricting their opponents to 67/2. Mohamed Khalaf scored 26, while Shayaam Abdul Gafoor impressed with the ball.
